Quick Bread Dough

Mix: 5 minutes

Knead: 10 minutes

Rise: 10 minutes

Form: 5 minutes

Bake: 15 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes


Ingredients:

1 C warm water

1 Tbsp yeast

1 Tbsp sugar

2 Tbsp oil**

1 tsp salt

2 1/2 C flour


Directions:

  1. Mix water, sugar, and yeast and allow to sit for 5 minutes to proof

  2. Mix together salt and flour, add in oil and yeast mixture. Knead until a soft dough forms, then continue kneading for additional 5-7 minutes until dough is elastic

  3. Cover and let dough rise for 10 minutes

  4. Bake according to what you are using it for below:

- Pizza Dough: Bake 15-25 minutes at 425 deg

- Buns: Bake 12-15 minutes at 365 deg

- Cheesy Buns: Wrap dough around small cube of velveeta, pinch bottom closed and place seam side down on a baking sheet. Baked 12-15 minutes at 365 deg

- Garlic Twists: Roll dough flat and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle garlic salt and parmesan cheese. Fold in half and seal edges. Using a pizza cutter, cut into 1" strips. Twist and place on sheet pan. Bake 15-20 minutes at 400 deg. Remove from oven when golden brown and brush with melted butter, sprinkle with more garlic salt and parm cheese


** For pizza dough I use olive oil, for buns I use canola oil. For garlic twists I use NO oil
