Apple Cuts

We have used a variety of apples with this. Typically honey crisp, this year, in 2020 we used Coffman's Haral Reds and it. Was. Fantastic.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Cool Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 55 minutes

Ingredients:

Pie Crust

2 1/2 C flour

1 tsp salt

1 C lard (crisco)

1 egg yolk - fill with milk to make 2/3 C

Filling:

5 C apples (tastes better with more)

1 1/2 C sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

1. Mix together crust ingredients and divide in half. Roll out half for the bottom of a 9x13 pan

2. Mix apples, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add on top of crust

3. Cover with remaining, rolled out portion of crust. Poke holes in the top for steam to escape

4. Bake 30-35 minutes at 400 deg

5. Cover with powdered sugar glaze
