Goes great with spaghetti, lasagna, or just marinara sauce!

Mix: 5 minutes

Knead: 5 minutes

Rise: 1 hour

Form: 10 minutes

Second Rise: 1 hour

Bake: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

1 1/4 C warm water (think bathwater temperature)

1 1/2 tsp yeast

2 Tbsp sugar

3 Tbsp melted butter

3 C bread flour

1 3/4 tsp kosher salt


For brushing:

3 Tbsp melted butter

1+ tsp garlic salt

1+ tsp italian seasonings


Directions:

  1. Add water, yeast, and sugar into bowl. Let sit for 5 min until foamy and yeast is activated

  2. Mix in dry ingredients. Knead for 5-7 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, covered with plastic wrap to rise for 1 hour

  3. Divide dough into 12 portions

  4. Roll each piece into a 7 inch long log. Place logs onto non-stick baking mat or parchment lined baking sheets. Let rise until doubled in size, approx 30-60 minutes

  5. Preheat oven to 400 deg

  6. Brush dough with egg wash and bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown

  7. Meanwhile, combine butter, garlic salt, and other seasonings in a small bowl

  8. Remove breadsticks from oven and immediately brush with butter mixture
