Never buying from the store again. Started making in 2023 when the winter was so long we missed maple syrup season on our farm. We ran out of our stock and storebought is never as good when you are used to homemade. It tastes similar to our syrup from our trees and can be whipped up so quickly!
Ingredients:
2 C sugar
1 C brown sugar
1/4 C honey
1 1/2 C hot water
1 tsp maple extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Combine sugar, honey, and water in a pan over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Turn to medium low and continue to simmer 8-10 minutes (stir frequently)
Remove from heat and add extracts
Allow to cool and place in jars. Store covered in fridge for 1-2 months
