Ingredients:
1 onion, diced
2lb ground beef
1/2 C panko bread crumbs
2 large egg yolks
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
dash of salt and pepper
Gravy:
1/4 C butter
1/3 C flour
4 C beef broth
3/4 C sour cream
salt and pepper, to taste
2 Tbsp parsley
Directions:
Sauté onion in oil or butter until translucent
In a large bowl, combine beef, panko, egg yolks, allspice, nutmeg, cooked onion, salt and pepper. Stir until well combined. Roll into 1 1/2" meatballs, forming approximately 24 balls
Brown meatballs in a skillet until all sides are browned, then transfer to a plate
In the same pan that you browned the meatballs, melt butter. Whisk in flour to make a light brown roux. Gradually whisk in broth, stirring constantly until thickened
Stir in sour cream, season with salt and pepper
Add meatballs back into the skillet and cook until gravy is thick and meatballs have heated through, approximately 8-10 minutes
Garnish with parsley
