Ingredients:
2lb hamburger, browned
1, 16oz jar salsa (We use our Carol Salsa recipe)
2, 15oz cans kidney beans
1, 6oz can tomato paste
2 tomato paste cans of water
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp brown sugar
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and simmer for 30-60 minutes
We serve with "cheesy buns" using our quick bread dough recipe
Instant pot directions:
I add 2-3 frozen round steaks and place on "meat/stew" setting for 30 minutes with beef broth or water + bullion cube at the bottom
Remove meat, trim fat, and shred
Strain juice and reserve broth. Sub this broth for the water noted above
Pour all chili ingredients into IP with the shredded round steak instead of hamburger
Place on "meat/stew" for an additional 30 minutes
